Welcome to the Prayer Summits Wiki! This site is hosted by International Renewal Ministries as part of the vision to see a move of God initiated and sustained in as many geographic areas as possible by fostering Spirit-led, worship-fed corporate prayer. The intention of this web page is to be a place where people's stories can be read and written. We are trusting you who care about Prayer Summits to protect the accuracy of the content of these pages. If you see something that is not accurate, please correct it. A password is required to edit them. If you don't know it please email us and we will get it to you.
According to wikipedia a wiki "is a web based application designed to allow multiple authors to add, remove, and edit content. The multiple author capability of wikis makes them effective tools for mass collaborative authoring." This makes a wiki an ideal format for a collaborative site of testimonies and 'how to's' about Prayer Summits and general stories about what God is doing in your city. This is a great feature because it allows you to contribute to this site and tell your story as well as hear from others around the nation and world who have shared similar experiences. Hopefully, this method of testimony will be mutually beneficial to all of us.
One of the major benefits of the Wiki format is its searchability. Like wikipedia (the godfather of all Wiki's) the Prayer Summits Wiki page is entirely searchable. In the upper right hand corner you will see a box that says 'search here.' For example, if you were to search the word 'prayer' you would probably get a list of every page on this site (prayer being a somewhat key term for Prayer Summits). If, on the other hand, you were to search 'community,' you would get only those articles which expressly use the word 'community.' We hope this feature will be a great benefit for those navigating this site.
To help make this feature as beneficial as possible we ask contributors to try (as often as possible) to use key words. What is a key word? If you are contributing to an article about how a Prayer Summit has helped mend relationships between pastors in your city it would be good to use the word 'reconciliation.' This allows someone searching for articles or testimonies about 'reconciliation' to easily find your article. In this case 'reconciliation' would be a key word.
In short, anyone. Anyone can use and edit this wiki. Specifically, pastors and ministry leaders who have been impacted by the Prayer Summit movement should create and edit pages on this site. Anyone who has a story to share or advice to give concerning a Prayer Summit or specific move of God in your area is invited to contribute to this site. To request the password to contribute to this site please email us, tell us who you are and what edits you want to make. We only ask that you remember that this web site is intended to glorify God and encourage others with testimonies and advice concerning Prayer Summits, corporate prayer, city impact, etc. Please be sure that everything you add or edit glorifies God.
In the upper left hand corner of this page you will see several blue buttons, one which says 'edit page.' This will be the case in any page you visit on this site. To edit a page, simply click the 'edit page' button and you will be taken to what looks like a word document with the contents of that page. From here all you have to do is add your changes and click save. The edit feature works very much like Microsoft Word and so is relatively self explanatory, if, however, you find that you are having trouble with certain features a helpful little tutorial is available here.
You may notice that the articles in the 'side bar' are organized into two basic headings. These are Topical and Testimonies. Topical articles are meant to be articles about any topic or theme related to Prayer Summits, Corporate Prayer, Community Impact, etc. Testimony Articles are further broken down into three categories. These are...
Prayer Summit Movement Articles: These are meant to be articles that describe the story of an entire city. This is the 'big picture' story. How has involvement in Prayer Summits, corporate prayer, etc, impacted the city as a whole. Individual Testimonies: This is the place for individuals to give their testimonies of how God has impacted them through a Prayer Summit. Specific Summits: This is the place where the story of a specific Summit can be told. What happened at the Summit you went to? Were there any unique stories about how God moved during your time? Please share these stories here.
Create one! One of the benefits of the Wiki format is that you, the contributor can add pages to this site. If your city has a good story, please create a new Prayer Summit Movement page, by clicking the 'new page' button on the tope of this page. if you have recently attended a Prayer Summit which has a unique story, please feel free to create a Specific Summit page by clicking the 'new page' button.
Creating a Link On the Side Bar
If you create a 'new page' you will want to create a new link for it on the side bar. This process is very easy. 1) At the bottom of the side bar you will see a link that is called 'Edit this!' if you click this link it will take you to a webpage version of the side bar. 2) Once you are at this page simply click the 'edit page' button at the top of the page. 3) From here it is just like editing any page. Simply add the name of your page to the appropriate section on the present list of pages. 4) Then highlight your text click on the 'link' button on the edit bar above, and link your text to the name of the page you previously created. 5) As always remember to save your changes.
If you are having problems with any of the editing features of this web page you can go here for tutorials and training.
